ZETECH Clinch 3 – 1 Win over Kuwinda FC

ZETECH College kicked off the Kenya Football Federation County League on a high note by thrashing Kuwinda FC 3 - 1 at the Ligi Ndogo grounds on Ngong Road, propelling ZETECH to the 3rd position in the league.

The early afternoon kickoff saw ZETECH take the lead through Salim Waziri in the 10th minute of the game. Five minutes later ZETECH’s lead was cut after ZETECH’s goal keeper punched the ball into the far right corner.

Nicholas Otieno could have doubled the lead but he missed a golden opportunity of netting into an empty goal by firing his shot wide off the far left corner in the 32nd minute.

ZETECH’s second goal came when Dodi collected a free ball from the midfield, dribbling past six players and surprisingly putting it in the net. The 3rd goal was secured after Salim Waziri oriented a penalty after Kuwinda handed the ball in the box.

Speaking after his team clinched victory, Coach Maurice Onyango urged his players to avoid complacency as the league has seven more games to go. “We need to be very tactical in the way we approach each game from today, we need to come here prepared both physically and psychologically,” he added.

The win gave ZETECH 22 points, putting them two points below league leaders Intercity who have played three more games.
